Let’s catch 12,000-year-old skeleton in Iran

Here is a video showing the 12,000-year-old skeleton of a child discovered in Mazandaran Province, Iran.

A group of archaeologists headed by Hassan Fazeli-Nashli, a professor at the University of Tehran, unearthed the skeleton speculated to be that of a six-to-eight-month-old child.

According to the excavation team, the main parts of the skull were painted in red and the child was buried with a necklace that appears to have been double wrapped around the neck.

The discovery of the skeleton along with some decorations in one of the ancient caves in Mazandaran provided new insights into the funeral rites in hunter-gatherer culture dating back 12,000 years.

This is just one of many ancient remains and relics that have been discovered in Mazandaran. The region is rich in archaeological sites with new finds providing priceless insights into Iran's unique history and culture.
